About Your Role
Give a general overview of what this person will do at your organization. For example:
As a Guidance Counselor, you’ll ensure the physical and mental well-being of the enrolled youth. You’ll establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, their families, staff, and administrators. You will collaborate with the school’s leadership team to develop, enhance, and implement new policies and procedures for the students’ mental health and well-being.
What You'll Do

- Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment for the enrolled youth, with a focus on their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well being
- Engage actively with the enrolled youth in all daily interactions
- Spread awareness of all available internal and external resources, as needed
- Accommodate all student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program, including academic planning, preparation, guidance, and intervention
- Collaborate with educators to understand how to work with each individual student and their family
- Provide counseling to all mandated IEP students
- Conduct and document parent conferences
- Serve as a positive role model for students
- Motivate youth to achieve their highest level of ability
- Write and manage 504 plans
What You'll Need to Get the Job Done

- 2+ years of previous counseling experience working with youth
- Proven data collection and advocacy skills
