About Your Role
Give a general overview of what this person will do at your organization. For example:
School principals are the leaders of our school staff members and student body. You set the tone for an environment that fosters learning, personal growth, and individual development in students’ most important formative years. Your key responsibilities span all aspects of school operations, including curriculum development, staff management, and activity oversight. You will also act as the “face” of our school, representing us at school board meetings, parent conferences and assemblies, and in approved press or public-facing community events.

School principals take on a wide range of responsibilities. Specifically, you will:
- Lead and supervise the teachers, school staff, and vice-principals
- Oversee and guide curriculum development
- Oversee and guide extracurricular school activity management
- Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure coordination between the students’ academic studies and non-academic experiences
- Be visible and accessible throughout the school day by greeting students as they come in in the morning, monitoring behavior in the cafeteria, and making appearances during school sanctioned activities and sporting events
- Lead assemblies, school rallies, and community events
- Hold regular office hours
- Make staffing decisions by performing interviews and making hiring choices, determining promotions, and managing any staff disciplinary procedures
- Develop new initiatives that will ensure our school community adapts and evolves, while still honoring our core values
- Create and uphold a culture that honors and respects differences in socio-economic status, identity, disability, race, gender expression, religion, and learning differences
- Maintain school safety and oversee regular training drills, including lockdowns, fire safety training, and weather emergency preparedness
- Uphold and ensure compliance with the school’s honor code
- Embody our pillars, values, mission, and code of conduct through your words and actions, on and off campus
What You'll Need to Get the Job Done
